Creating value together for entrepreneurs and for the Netherlands
At the request of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ), the Regional Development Agencies (ROMs) have worked on the Regional Reinforcement Plan for the National Technology Strategy (RV-NTS). This plan translates the National Technology Strategy (NTS) into 14 promising value chains where entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions, and governments in the Netherlands can make a joint impact.
What is the National Technology Strategy (NTS)?
The National Technology Strategy identifies key technologies in which the Netherlands excels and with which companies and knowledge institutions can make a difference, both economically and socially. For more information, see this link.
The Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs) Key Technologies and Digitization are working on national action agendas for the technologies within the NTS and are responsible for drawing up innovation programs. The RV-NTS now published represents the input of the ROMs in the consultations with the KIAs (in which the Ministry of Economic Affairs is represented) and with other parties in the field, which should lead to a jointly supported plan. This may still influence details in the RV-NTS.
Collaboration
The strength of this plan lies in cooperation. Entrepreneurs have indicated where they see opportunities and what obstacles they encounter. These signals have been combined with analyses of growth markets and technological strengths. The result is a practical implementation plan with concrete interventions that directly help entrepreneurs and partners move forward.
We would therefore like to discuss this plan with companies and organizations that are active in innovation in the 14 value chains, in order to deepen and implement the interventions together where possible.
The RV-NTS offers, among other things:
- New networks and collaborations in fast-growing markets;
- Understanding where technology truly offers opportunities and who can assist in this regard;
- Support in finding financing, partners, and facilities;
- A common basis for removing barriers and accelerating economic growth.
