LIOF will be happy to examine with you whether your project is eligible for an MIT South subsidy. We not only put you in touch with implementing organization Stimulus, but can also assess your plan for submission.
Instruments for innovative SMEs in the Southern Netherlands
The government uses two instruments within MIT South to stimulate the innovative power of SMEs: the feasibility project and R&D collaboration.
Subsidy for top sectors
The focus is on the four societal themes of the mission-driven knowledge and innovation policy (the so-called Knowledge and Innovation Agendas: KIAs), the further developments of key technologies and societal earning capacity. These are the KIAs within which the project must fit:
the KIA energy transition and sustainability
the KIA agriculture, water and food
the KIA health and care
the KIA safety.
Feasibility Project
Map risks and resources
With a feasibility project, you identify the technical and economic risks of a proposed development. Possibly supplemented by a small portion of industrial research or development. This will give you a good idea of the resources you will need to carry the project through.
Feasibility: April 4, 2023
SMEs wishing to submit a project are advised to take the substantive policy update into account. For projects that are already focused on the various social tasks, not much will change. For other projects it may. For the context of the new policy, for the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs) and for examples, you can orient yourself via www.topsectoren.nl and via the Stimulus website.
For this instrument, treatment is on a first come, first serve basis. The day on which the grant application is complete serves as the benchmark for this. All complete applications received on the submission date are treated equally. The evaluation order of these applications will be determined by drawing lots. Not later than 12 weeks after submission, notification will follow and, if approved, 100% payment of the awarded amount will take place (max € 20,000).
Read more about the grant in this factsheet and on the website of Stimulus, the executor of this scheme.
Within a R&D collaboration project, at least two SMEs innovate or develop a product, production process or service. The ultimate goal is further growth of your company. In addition, the collaboration with another Limburg SME provides you with knowledge.
The scheme for R&D Cooperation Projects is closed.
The tender mechanism will be applied for this instrument. All applications submitted completely and correctly within the tender period and meeting the scheme technical requirements will be qualitatively assessed by an external, independent advisory committee. After 12 weeks, notification follows and payment follows in part. The first (max) 75% after notification, the rest after completion of the project.
Find out more about the grant in the factsheet or on the website of Stimulus, the executor of this scheme.
