Seed Fund for SMEs
The Limburg Business Development Fund (LBDF) Seed Fund provides share capital to enable knowledge-intensive start-ups to raise additional capital, growth capital or to break even. The amount of share capital varies between €100,000 and €500,000, paid in tranches, possibly in addition to financing provided by other parties (such as banks and investors).
In the past period we have supported many start-ups financially. As a result, the LBDF budget has been exhausted. Please contact us to discuss possible alternatives.
Another requirement is that your company is actually located in Limburg (physically and actively present), and operates in one of the priority sectors in Limburg:

Next steps
Testing and assessment
We’ll contact you to discuss your business plan. After that we test your company against our criteria and analyse the business plan. This is followed by a term sheet negotiation and due diligence (technical, financial, legal, IP).
Allocation and turnaround time
An external expert committee (the credit committee) advises on the investment proposal. We subject your application to a final assessment based on this advice. If the decision goes your way, we prepare a participation agreement.
The processing time from application to investment depends on how quickly you can submit the application and complete it together with LIOF.
