Launch of ambitious SME046 program
Strengthening SME innovation and cooperation in the Western Mining Region
Today marks the launch of the Ambitious SME046 programme, an initiative aimed at supporting the growth and innovation of SMEs in the 046 region. This programme, a collaboration between the municipalities of Sittard-Geleen, Stein, Beek, Rabobank, LIOF, BSG and Stadslabs Sittard Geleen, is distinguished by its unique approach, which focuses on the demands and needs of ambitious SME entrepreneurs.

The programme facilitates a community in which entrepreneurs meet, collaborate and share knowledge and experiences about innovative projects. This not only strengthens the local economy, but also creates a network of knowledge and collaboration that is accessible to all ambitious entrepreneurs and knowledge partners in the region. The current SME Green Deal support package, which helps entrepreneurs make their businesses future-proof and sustainable, will thus become part of the Ambitious SME046 programme.
Part of national SME action plan
The Ambitious SME046 programme is part of the new national SME action plan, which sees the 046 region profiling itself as one of the six pilot municipalities within this national initiative. This collaboration links local efforts to promote SME growth with national ambitions and offers unique opportunities for knowledge exchange and economies of scale.
Small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of our economy; they deserve every support to make their businesses future-proof. Together, we are committed to their growth and innovation, for a stronger and more sustainable tomorrow.
says Yvonne Salvino-Meijer, councillor for the municipality of Sittard-Geleen
