SYN-ERGIE
Sustainable transport pilot
SYN-ERGIE is taking the next step in the development towards sustainable goods transport between the east and west of the border region, i.e. the axis West-Flanders-Antwerp-Limburg (NL). Based on a targeted market survey, LIOF, together with the POM West Flanders, plans to form shippers' communities with 'early believers’ in order to create a competitive and sustainable multimodal offer together with suitable logistics service providers in the next phase. A pilot is planned for both rail and inland waterway transport.
The INTERREG project 'electric Green Last Mile' (eGLM) plans to take an important step towards making the transport sector more sustainable. Fully electric trucks are used with the corresponding quick chargers for short trips (max. 150 km) in the Venlo and Duisburg region. The aim is to minimize CO₂ production, air pollution and noise. Taking take part in this project will improve your competitiveness.
The project centres on achieving optimal usage and – accordingly – a higher truck occupancy rate through truck sharing. Investments in electric trucks are relatively high, and truck sharing could remove this barrier.
View the video "5 YEARS eGLM IN VIEW | electric Green Last Mile (eGLM)" Electric truck was not yet in the vocabulary of the logistics world in 2017. We set out the road traveled until now, 2022, in this animation. Purpose: to spur innovation. Learning by doing, in an industry where sustainability can have a major impact on our immediate environment.
On November 23, the closing event took place. Watch the aftermovie here. During this event at the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, various guest speakers gave an insight into the latest developments surrounding electric trucking and the lessons learned from this project were discussed in a panel discussion.
