Crossroads Flanders-Netherlands
Supporting promising innovations across borders
The Southern Netherlands and Flanders are in themselves particularly innovative regions, but can achieve even more with collaborations across national borders.
CrossRoads Flanders-Netherlands is a project within the European program Interreg Flanders and stimulates cross-border cooperation between SMEs in Flanders and the southern Netherlands (Zeeland, North Brabant, Limburg and South Holland). The project supports companies in their search for a partner across the border and subsidizes product or process innovations that contribute to societal transition priorities:

Stimulating the development of sustainable hydrogen in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion
A consortium of nine partners is joining forces to stimulate the development of sustainable hydrogen innovation, demonstration and knowledge sharing in the Meuse-Rhine Euregion, as a first step toward the large-scale rollout of a sustainable hydrogen economy.
The working area of the EMR H2 Booster consortium consists of Dutch and Flemish Limburg, the Aachen region and Liège. The project lasts 18 months and runs until June 2023.
The project partners are Stadt Aachen, LIOF, POM Limburg, Cluster TWEED, SPI, IHK Aachen, Hasselt University, Waterstof Coalitie Limburg and WaterstofNet, which is coordinating the project. Region Parkstad is an associate partner.
The ET2SMEs project focuses on interregional cooperation between SMEs in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion. The aim is to stimulate technological and economic developments around the Einstein Telescope project. The technological partnerships will play an important role in the development of the Einstein Telescope and demonstrate the high-tech character of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.
Within the project, support and funding is available for innovations based on the various technologies within the Einstein Telescope project. The INTERREG project 'electric Green Last Mile' (eGLM) wants to take an important step in making the transport sector more sustainable. For short trips (max. 150 km) in the Venlo and Duisburg region 100% electric trucks with corresponding fast chargers are used. This is to minimise CO₂ production, air pollution and noise. If you take part in this project, you will therefore gain in competitiveness.
In addition, optimal use and therefore a higher degree of utilisation of trucks through truck sharing is central. The investments in electric trucks are relatively high, and truck sharing could remove this barrier.
