Van Melick Group takes next step in growth with new shareholder structure
The Van Melick Group, active in hospitality, catering, events and venue management in the Euregio, is entering a new phase of growth. Shareholder Jorrit van Melick and new shareholder Rob Matti have acquired the shares from LIOF and co-shareholder Marco Geurten. This creates a new shareholder structure that will enable the company to further build on its strategy and position in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Jorrit van Melick will remain responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation as managing director. The arrival of Rob Matti creates a complementary duo that is committed to strengthening the market position and further professionalisation.

Role of LIOF in a crucial period
LIOF became a shareholder in 2020 to support the family business during an exceptionally challenging period for the hospitality sector. Due to the coronavirus crisis and temporary overcapacity, Van Melick faced major strategic and financial issues. With our involvement, expertise and capital injection, the company was able to successfully navigate this phase and lay a solid foundation for continuity and further growth. Now that Van Melick is ready for its next strategic step, LIOF is transferring its shareholding to entrepreneurs who will shape the next phase of growth.
This process demonstrates what LIOF can do for SMEs in Limburg, and in particular for the many family businesses that form an important pillar of the regional economy.
