Predicting means less waste

LIOF is delighted to announce its recent investment in COMPUTD, a pioneering AI consultancy and technology company. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the development of COMPUTD's AI product, which is designed to improve sales forecasts for bakeries and thus make a significant contribution to combating food waste.

In the Netherlands, an incredible 700,000 loaves of bread are thrown away every day.* These alarming figures indicate how urgent the need for innovative solutions in the food sector is. COMPUTD's innovative solution uses advanced AI to analyse historical sales figures and provide bakeries with accurate forecasts. This enables bakeries to optimise their production planning, limit surpluses and significantly reduce food waste, in line with global sustainability goals.

"By investing in COMPUTD, we are not only financing a great company, but also promoting a sustainable future," says Lenn Houbiers, investment manager at LIOF. "We believe that AI technology can play an important role in solving social problems such as food waste, and COMPUTD's AI tool is ready to transform the bakery sector."

"We are very pleased to have the backing and support of a strong financial partner with local and regional roots. They can help us develop what has the potential to become an important AI tool for the bakery sector," says Marcell Igneczi, CEO and managing partner of COMPUTD.

LIOF's investment enables COMPUTD to expand its technological capabilities, scale up its activities and increase the company's impact on the bakery sector. COMPUTD is ready to enter the next phase of product development with leading bakeries in Limburg.
