COMET
COMET is a project within the Interreg VI programme Germany–Netherlands. COMET stands for Comaking the Einstein Telescope. The project stimulates cross-border collaboration between SMEs and knowledge institutions in the Netherlands and Germany. The focus is on technological innovations that contribute to the realization of the Einstein Telescope and the further development of high-tech ecosystems.

What is COMET?
COMET (Comaking the Einstein Telescope) is an Interreg VIa project running from November 2025 to December 2028. The project focuses on strengthening collaboration between Dutch and German SMEs and knowledge institutions.
Through this collaboration, innovative solutions are developed that are essential for the construction and operation of the Einstein Telescope, a world-class large-scale research infrastructure.
The regions involved have strong knowledge and industrial clusters in high-tech, manufacturing, and research. Cross-border collaboration helps to further unlock and accelerate this potential.

How to connect with companies across the border?
The project partners support you in finding suitable collaboration partners in the Netherlands and Germany. They also assist in setting up projects and submitting funding applications. This support is free of charge.

What funding is available?
The following funding conditions apply for subprojects within COMET:
- Funding rate: up to 50% Interreg support
- Maximum Interreg contribution per subproject: €75,000
- Maximum total project budget per subproject: €150,000
When does the programme open?
The project runs from November 2025 to December 2028. During this period, collaborations are initiated and supported.
