Expedition: Circularity & Sustainability

HAS students and SMEs go on expedition together. In cooperation with the LIOF program LimburgToekomstBestendig, HAS green academy branch Venlo is offering another new expedition starting January 28, 2025: Expedition Circularity & Sustainability.

An expedition gives SME entrepreneurs the opportunity to work with a group of fourth-year students from HAS green academy on their issue in the field of circularity & sustainability. SMEs within the province of Limburg can qualify for a 70% contribution (up to a maximum of € 7,500) of the costs of this expedition through the Collective Project of LIOF.

On expedition: an idea developed together with the HAS

The expedition Circularity & Sustainability will start on January 28, 2025.

With an HAS expert as project leader and a team of fourth-year students, entrepreneurs research a challenge or idea and develop it over a 20-week period.

Ideas that can be researched and tested include:

  • How can I improve my soil quality and make it more sustainable?
  • How can I make my food or production chain (more) sustainable?
  • How do I develop a circular food system?
  • How do I recover my residual and waste streams?
  • How do I develop sustainability goals and how do I translate them into practical improvement within my business operations?

During the expedition, there are a number of moments when the entrepreneurs meet with the team of students, as well as with other participants in the expedition, to gain feedback on the project and gain knowledge. Among other things, to sharpen the research question and later in the process to go through possible solutions. This is done in the form of development sessions.

Participation

Participation in the expeditions is open to all SME entrepreneurs in the Netherlands active in agro, food or living environment. They are therefore cordially invited to apply.

SMEs within the province of Limburg are entitled to a contribution of €7,500 towards the costs of this Expedition through LIOF's Collective Project. By means of the Collective Project, LIOF wants to encourage SMEs in Limburg to innovate products, services, processes and/or business models within the social issues of 'smart, sustainable and healthy'.

To be eligible for this grant scheme, interested parties must have signed up for this expedition by December 2024.
