Smarter decision-making for a safer Europe: Parragone takes its next growth step with support from LIOF

From protecting critical infrastructure to supporting emergency services and military operations: organizations are increasingly required to make decisions in a very short amount of time based on large amounts of information. That data comes from many different sources and isn’t always easy to combine or interpret. That’s exactly where the Limburg-based tech startup Parragone makes a difference.

The company is developing a system that helps organizations quickly transform large amounts of information into a reliable picture of the situation. Using advanced artificial intelligence, the platform aggregates information from various sources and provides insight into where this information comes from and how the data is interconnected. In this way, it helps users determine which information is important, what it means for the situation, and what action is most effective. Each user is shown the information relevant to his or her role, task, and authority. This enables people to make faster and better-informed decisions in complex situations. Parragone’s technology is not intended to replace human judgment, but rather to support people with reliable information and a clearer picture of the situation, so they can act more effectively.

LIOF is supporting Parragone with an investment that will enable the company to further develop its technology, expand its practical applications, and establish new strategic partnerships.

From Technology to Practical Applications

Although the technology was initially developed for defense and security applications, it is also relevant to civilian domains such as the protection of critical infrastructure, ports, airports, energy grids, emergency response, and crisis management. Thanks to this dual-use approach, technology developed for complex defense and security situations is also valuable for societal and civilian applications.
The technology is designed for situations in which organizations cannot always count on ideal conditions, unlimited resources, or an uninterrupted connection. From defense and security operations to the protection of critical infrastructure: it is precisely in such situations that it is important to have access to reliable information and to make effective decisions based on it.
After several years of innovation and development, Parragone is now entering a new phase focused on practical application. Through pilot projects, demonstrations, and strategic partnerships, the company is working to test the technology in realistic situations and lay the groundwork for further growth.

Chono Nanton, CEO of Parragone: "By helping organizations transform diverse sources of information into a reliable picture of the situation, we enable people to make better decisions, respond more effectively, and operate with greater confidence in complex environments."

One example that is already underway is a project aimed at monitoring drone activity in a regional setting. Such practical applications help test the technology under realistic conditions. At the same time, they demonstrate how the technology can support decision-making in areas such as aviation, critical infrastructure, security, and public safety.

Building the Next Phase Together

The collaboration goes beyond financing. LIOF also acts as a strategic sparring partner and connects Parragone with relevant ecosystems, knowledge institutions, and business partners in Limburg, the Netherlands, and internationally. Particularly in the field of defense and dual-use applications, collaboration between entrepreneurs, governments, research organizations, and end users is essential to accelerate innovation and bring new technologies to market.

Roy Golsteijn, Business Developer at LIOF: "Defense & dual-use is a rapidly growing sector with great potential for Limburg, and we are proud to support ambitious entrepreneurs like Parragone with financing, expertise, and the right connections to accelerate their growth."

Innovation with a broad societal impact

Across Europe, organizations are facing growing challenges due to geopolitical uncertainty, rapidly changing security threats, and an increasing reliance on digital infrastructure. As a result, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to quickly transform large amounts of information into a reliable picture of the situation, in order to make well-informed decisions and take effective action.
At the same time, Europe is investing heavily in technological resilience and sovereignty. Consequently, there is a growing demand for solutions that can strengthen both defense and civilian applications. Technologies that can be deployed for security, critical infrastructure, emergency response, and the public sector are becoming increasingly important for a safer and more resilient society.

In the coming years, Parragone aims to become a leading European technology company that helps organizations make faster and better-informed decisions based on reliable information. Through continuous innovation, real-world applications, and strategic partnerships, the company is working toward further growth and developing technology that helps organizations operate more effectively in an increasingly complex world.
