The Limburg Chinese Community Event 2021

Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. In 2021, Friday the 12th of February marks the first day of Chinese New Year, which is the Year of the Ox. The lantern festival is held on the 26th of February, the fifteenth and final day of Chinese new Year, and marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. Chinese New Year is one of the world’s most important and popular festivals. Therefore, Chinese New Year is not only celebrated in China, but also in the areas with a big Chinese community. For example in Southeast Asian countries, as well as Europe, Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada.

There are around 80,000 Chinese (or people with origine from china) in the Netherlands. And among them several thousands are located in Limburg.

Limburg Chinese Community Event

In order to enhance the connection of the Chinese Community in Limburg with Limburg’s economic ecosystem, increase the visibility of Chinese Community to the local companies, promote Limburg-China collaboration and celebrate Chinese New Year of the OX together, we are going to organize the first Limburg Chinese Community online event on the 26th of February 2021. The event is jointjly initiated by LIOF (Sino Europe Service Desk)and Brightlands China Center, and supported by the Province of Limburg and Municipality Maastricht.

If you are part of the Chinese community in Limburg, e.g. students, researchers, entrepreneurs, professionals, family members and Chinese culture lovers, or if you are a company/organization in Limburg with an interest or initiation in China, you are welcome to join our event! The first 100 registrations get a chance to participate in the online games to win a prize! Furthermore, a lucky draw is waiting for you by the end of the event!
